I knew right away something was amiss.
The birds normally fluttering
Were quiet and listless.
Then the breeze turned chilly
And the bay normally teal
Became dark, waves flying willy nilly.
I know to head back to the office
When the summit normally heated
Turns cloudy and the wind raucous.
So the vacation is over
And now here I sit
Waiting for cloud cover
To break and the sunbeams to hit.
